It's hard to believe that we open two weeks from tonight!! There is so much that happens in the last couple of weeks. Your schedules will be very intense and it is really important that you take care of yourselves. It is a little tricky managing your time during the final weeks. Be sure to prioritize your school work and don't waste your "free" time. Do your best to go to bed as early as you can each night, drink lots of water during the day but don't share water bottles, eat well, and wash your hands a lot. If you are sick with a fever or stomach bug, PLEASE let Mr. Steinberg know that you need to stay home. Let me take a moment to remind you of quite a few things: 1. The donations for the silent auction are due no later than next Saturday, the 21st. (I will forward you an email reminder from the coordinators.) If you want to donate something like a service or vacation week or anything else that is fantastic, please contact the coordinators. We appreciate every donation! 2. The cast party happens on Sunday immediately following the show. I am assuming that cast members will be off the stage around 5 pm & they need to clean up their things in the dressing rooms before attending the cast party. The cast party is for cast, crew, pit orchestra and their families. It is a potluck dinner party so, please sign up to bring something if you plan to stay and enjoy the party. If everyone brings a dish that's enough for the number of people they're bringing and perhaps a friend (parents, siblings, whomever) then there should be plenty. Toni Korner is coordinating this for you. 3. Strike takes place immediately after the final performance. While the cast members start cleaning up their stuff in the dressing room, we start taking down drops, putting away props, packing up costumes, taking apart the set, etc. If you're an able-bodied adult or a member of the stage crew, we would appreciate your help. It moves along pretty quickly if there are many helping hands. Regardless, it took weeks to put this all together but it will come apart in a couple of hours. 4. If you ordered a cast & crew t-shirt, I expect to have them ready to distribute during the final week of rehearsals. If you have already paid, I will deliver your shirt promptly. If you have not paid, I will hold onto the shirt until payment is received. ($20) 5. Tickets are on sale http://region6players.weebly.com/ticket-sales.html 6. Hair & Make up = EVERYONE is responsible for providing their own make-up (YES, boys also wear stage makeup or they will be washed out on stage) and hair products. I have attached a handout that we made several years ago. Please refer to it first. 7. CALL is the time that you are expected to arrive for a dress rehearsal or performance. There is a lot to get done before the show begins. Please be aware of call times are arrive promptly. The dressing rooms for the shows are in the 300s hallway (behind the stage). During performances, no one is allowed back there to 'visit'. Only parents that are working backstage will be allowed. 8. Volunteer jobs during dress rehearsals and the shows. In the next few days I will send something out about who agreed to do what. At that point, I would like those volunteers (and any others that didn't previously sign up for something) to let me know what works best for them. [Concessions, Ticket Sales, Room Monitors, etc.] I think that's it... 50th anniversary of the movie - The Sound of Music
